Identity cards

The citizens of an independent nation should be able to prove their identity, whenever called upon to do so. The new identification cards being given to Indian citizens will be a great help in this and, as such, is a welcome move. Though it has taken 60 years for the Government to wake up and realise this fact, it is better late than never.
