Kolkata Dock box handling

In May, the Kolkata Dock System handled 25,913 TEUs, the highest monthly throughput recorded so far, surpassing the previous best of 24,383 TEUs in September last year. In May 2006, the KDS handled 18,867 TEUs.

The number of container vessels handled in May this year was also the highest at 46 as compared to the previous highest of 40 in September last year, according to a press release issued by the Kolkata Port Trust.
