L&T chief, officials call on Karunanidhi

Chennai June 8 The Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, Mr A.M. Naik, today met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr M. Karunanidhi, according to a statement from the Government.

Mr Naik was accompanied by senior officials of L&T, Mr K.V. Rangasami, Mr K. Venkatesh and Mr V.P. Ravi, Mr Sailendra N. Rai. From the State Government's side, the Power Minister, Mr Arcot N. Veerasami, and the State Industries Secretary, Mr Sakthikanta Das, were among those present.

The statement says that the discussions were about L&T investing in the State.

L&T is looking for locating a few of its ventures in the State. Among them are a shipyard at Ennore and facilities for producing boilers and turbines for power projects.
