Bonds rise tracking US yields

Bond prices rose around 20 paise and yields went down by about three basis points tracking the high US yields on Treasury bills, which rose to a six-year high of 5.15 per cent against previous day's 4.97 per cent. Total traded volumes on the order matching system were at Rs 4,445 crore (Rs 4,190 crore). Dealers said the bond prices also rose as inflation was at 4.85 per cent in the week ended May 26 from 5.06 percent in the previous week.

The 8.07 per cent-10 year-2017 paper opened at Rs 99.45 (8.16 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 99.54 (8.14 per cent YTM) against Thursday's close of Rs 99.75 (8.11 per cent YTM). The 7.49 per cent-10 year-2017 paper opened at Rs 95.30 (8.19 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 95.30 (8.19 per cent YTM) against Thursday's close of Rs 95.50 (8.16 per cent YTM).
