With reference to the news item titled `Tata Motors cuts car production by 20%' published in Business Line on June 8, 2007, Ms Sarita Rajiv, Manager - Corporate Communications, Tata Motors, while categorically denying any cut in the passenger car segment, says that the details mentioned in the report are completely untrue and convey the incorrect impression that a slowdown is forcing the company to undertake a cut in production. Also, she says, the company has never made any statement about launching the new Indica in September, so any report of postponing it is highly speculative.
