Shree Cement gets `green' award

Kolkata, June 12

Shree Cement Ltd, an ISO 14001 company aiming at 20 million tonnes per annum capacity by 2012, has bagged the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award for the second successive year, said a release. Other previous recipients of this award are Balco, ONGC, Maruti, GAIL, NTPC, ITC Hotels, HPCL and Bhilai Steel. The award, instituted by the World Environment Foundation, is given in recognition of healthy environment practices adopted by a company to maintain ecological balance and sustainable growth.
