Heritage Foods plans Daily@ stores

Our Bureau

Bangalore, June 13

Hyderabad-based Heritage Foods, which already has a South Indian presence with Fresh@ supermarkets, is now looking at making inroads into residential locations with smaller stores. To be called Daily@, these stores with a floor footage of 700-800 sq ft would be shopping destinations for essential top-ups like fruits, vegetables, bakery and dairy products, Mr Santosh Unni, Head, Operations and Marketing, Heritage Foods, Retail Division, told Business Line.

Heritage currently has 15 Fresh@ stores in Hyderabad, three in Bangalore and two in Chennai and plans to take this number to 30 in a month's time, Mr Unni said. The retail chain also plans to have around 80 Daily@ stores in about a couple of months.

Heritage Foods is also leveraging on its distribution network of 2,900 agents, already existing for its dairy products, to strengthen its home delivery model for the retail chain of stores. The company has also set up a call centre and an e-portal to enable online shopping.
