Berger Paints India Ltd has posted 18.5 per cent growth in sales to Rs 1,383 crore and 18.8 per cent in net profit to Rs 83.1 crore for the year ended March. For the first time, the company's cash profit crossed Rs 100 crore, according to company sources.

The board of directors has recommended a final dividend of 20 per cent; together with an interim of 30 per cent, the total dividend is 50 per cent for the year under review on an enhanced equity base arising out of the bonus issue in 2006-07.

The company's resin plant in Jammu has commenced production while the plant in Russia is to start production shortly. BNB Coatings India Ltd, a joint venture with Nippon Bee Chemicals Ltd of Japan for the manufacture of plastic auto part coatings, is in the process of formation.
