R.V. Rajan is RMAAI President

Chennai June 14 Mr R.V. Rajan, Chairman, Anugrah Madison, Chennai, and the Founder-President of the Rural Marketing Agencies Association of India (RMAAI), was selected as the President for 2007-08 at the association's second annual general meeting held in Delhi.

A press release said Mr Pradeep Kashyap of MART-Delhi was named the Vice-President, Mr Khurram Askari of Insight Communications, Hyderabad, Secretary, and Mr R. Parthasarathy of Kripa Outdoor Publicity, Chennai, Treasurer. The executive committee members include Mr Anurag Gupta of Ogilvy Outreach, Mumbai, Mr Pradeep Lokhande of Rural Relations, Pune, Mr R.A. Patankar of Sampark, Mumbai, Mr Sandip Bansal of Xpanse Asia, Mumbai, Mr Sanjay Kaul of Impact Communication, Delhi, Mr Sanjay Pragat of Vision Force, Bhopal, and Mr Sunil Khairnar of India Agribusiness, Delhi.

Mr Rajan said the association is planning a seminar on `Public Private Partnership in Rural Development' in Bhopal later in the year. It is also planning to bring out a book on `Case Studies in Rural Marketing' in association with Mudra Institute of Communication, Ahmedabad (MICA).

MICA has entrusted RMAAI to conduct a full credit course in Rural Marketing during the current year. RMAAI is also planning to conduct a study to get a profile of rural shops and the purchase behaviour of rural shoppers.
