Cholamandalam MS expanding branch network in TN

Coimbatore June 14 Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Ltd (Chola-MS), the Chennai-based joint venture between the Murugappa Group and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group of Japan, is set to expand its branch network in Tamil Nadu.

The company, in the last financial year, ended with a gross written premium of Rs 314 crore and Tamil Nadu contributed to 18 per cent (Rs 57 crore) of this premium. In the current year, Chola-MS has plans to double its premium earnings from Tamil Nadu to Rs 100 crore, according to a communication from Mr S.S. Gopalarathnam, President (Operations), Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company.

To achieve this, it is expanding its branch network to ensure that there is a branch in every district. This will help the company penetrate the smaller towns and rural areas. It currently has 18 branches in the State.
