Asianet Communications Ltd, which currently operates three Malayalam satellite television channels, is entering the Kannada satellite television market. The company's 24-hour Kannada television channel, `Asianet Suvarna', will be launched on Sunday, says a company press release.

The entertainment-oriented channel will feature a mix of daily serials, game shows, talk shows, film-based programmes, news and current affairs. The channel will also broadcast live news bulletins five times a day. Over 80 per cent of the new channel's programmes will be produced in-house. Popular films will be telecast every week, from Friday to Sunday, the release adds.
