Adlabs lights up on `Sivaji'

The stock of Adlabs Films witnessed sharp gains on Friday. It closed at Rs 543.70 against the previous day's close of Rs 514.05, while the traded quantity too jumped to 3.07 lakh shares, against the two-week average of 1.72 lakh shares on the BSE. Punters attribute the sharp gain in the stock to the strong opening of Rajnikant's lastest blockbuster Sivaji across India and select overseas countries.

According to them, the successful opening of Sivaji could also bode well for the success of a 3-D animated film entitled `Sultan The Warrior' that they say is being made by Rajnikant's daughter Soundarya in association with Adlabs. This film is likely to be screened in 2008.

With Sivaji making a good debut, punters feel the animated movie too would be marketed at a better price. Besides, expectation of a corporate announcement by the company is also triggering interest in the stock, say marketmen.
