Swarovski to open 30 outlets

Swarovski, the global crystal goods manufacturer and marketer, are on an expansion spree in India and hope to achieve five to ten per cent of the global turnovers from the country in the next ten years. "India, for the global company is currently a market of strategic importance and we have big plans in the country.

The luxury market in India is opening up in terms of both availability of retail space and the willingness of consumers to go in for luxury goods," said Mr V. Shivkumar, Country Manager, Swarovski. The company plans to set up 30 stores by 2009, from the current 13.
