The Videocon group is holding talks with the Government of Tamil Nadu for finding out what kind of concessions the group would get, if it were to locate its plasma TV project in the State.

Disclosing this on the sidelines of an Assocham press conference, the Chairman of the Videocon group and the President of Assocham, Mr Venugopal Dhoot, said that the project would call for investments of Rs 1,000 crore.

The Rs 12,000-crore Videocon group is one of the larger manufacturers of consumer durables and electronics appliances in the country. It recently purchased 40 technology patents for liquid crystal display technology from IBM.
