Mangalore, June 18

Team Mangalore - the hobby group of kite makers and flyers - has won the `Best International Kite Award' at the international kite festival, organised by North East Lincolnshire Council of the UK. Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Mr Giridhar Kamath, one of the team members who participated in the festival, said Team Mangalore won this award amongst 26 teams representing 12 countries.

Team Mangalore was the only team invited from India. The kites of Team Mangalore depicting traditional folklore dramatics such as `kathakkali' and `yakshagana' were the real crowd pullers at the festival, he said.
