Airlines Marketing - Strategy Singapore Airlines offers 50% discount Our Bureau
Chennai June 18 Singapore Airlines on Monday announced invitation fares on flights between Chennai and Singapore, Kaula Lumpur, Bangkok and Hong Kong. The airline has announced a 50 per cent cut in the fares, if the tickets are bought on the Internet. The return fares are: Rs 7,888 to Singapore, Rs 8,888 to Kaula Lumpur, Rs 9,888 to Bangkok and Rs 12,888 to Hong Kong. The discounts are to commemorate Singapore Airlines' launch of its 50th flight weekly out of India and the eighth out of Chennai. The airline it wishes to operate 14 flights a week between Chennai and Singapore, Mr Bharat Mahadevan, Manager, Southern India, Singapore Airlines, told journalists on Monday. Coimbatore-Singapore flight Meanwhile, SilkAir is thinking of launching a flight service connecting Coimbatore and Singapore, senior officials of Singapore Airlines said today. SilkAir is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines. SilkAir now operates flights connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi to Singapore. Unlike the low cost carrier, Tiger Airways, which is 49 per cent-owned by Singapore Airlines, SilkAir is a full service carrier.
