Strategy Godrej Appliances aims at 30% revenue growth Our Bureau
Kolkata June 19 Godrej Appliances, a division of the Rs 4,000-crore Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company Ltd, aims at 30 per cent revenue growth during the current fiscal through introduction of new products and new product lines within the existing category, according to Mr George Menezes, Chief Operating Officer of the division. "Our revenue is expected to touch Rs 1,000 crore during the current fiscal from Rs 800 crore last year. We have revamped our product portfolio, which has contributed towards the company's growth, " Mr Menezes told newspersons here today. Godrej Appliances, which introduced the EON brand in the premium white goods segment, currently has five products under the brand including refrigerators, airconditioners, microwave ovens, washing machines and home theatre systems. The company plans to introduce dishwashers and has commissioned a consumer research to assess the market potential. In the commercial segment, the company plans to introduce visicoolers and chests. He, however, did not give a possible timeframe within which the products would be introduced. On pricing, Mr Menezes said there would not be any further price erosion in the white goods space. "I don't see a price erosion happening. On the contrary, I see prices going up as the input costs including that for steel and copper are climbing." Godrej Appliances will also focus on extensive brand promotion, and plans to spend about five per cent of its turnover towards advertising.
