Rolls out mobile showcase of networking solutions

Hyderabad June 20 Networking technology provider Cisco Systems is now taking technology to the doorstep of enterprises by offering live tech demos.

India is the second country after the US where Cisco has taken this route to empower small and medium-sized enterprises and this is being supported by a recently launched easy finance option through a lease plan that cuts down on overall cost of acquisition of technology.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Vice-President, Commercial, Cisco India and Saarc, Mr Jagdish Mohapatra, said the company has today rolled out Network On Wheels, a mobile showcase of networking solutions including security, wireless and Unified IP (Internet protocol) based communication solutions.

These are particularly customised for rapidly growing sectors such as IT, biotechnology, pharma, auto and textiles and easy to deploy.

The Cisco `Now' initiative aims to address the awareness gap by showcasing a complete range of customised Cisco networking solutions such as routing, switching, security, wireless, voice and video. The company stated that it is one of the major marketing initiatives and forms a key element of Cisco strategy. It is proposed to cover over 50 cities in the country. Cisco plans to touch about 100 enterprises in each city.

Hyderabad is the first such centre in the South. As Indian companies expand, networking technology forms the backbone for all IT and telecom investments.
