Human Resources Flight training school ties up with Canadian firm Our Bureau
New Delhi June 20 The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy (IGRUA) and the Canadian Aviation Electronics (CAE) Inc have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the Canadian firm to undertake a management contract for the Academy's flight school operations. The MoU is to see CAE assume full responsibility of the management of IGRUA's existing flying school operations, including looking after maintenance of aircraft, flying operations, ATC and runway maintenance. The capacity at the Academy is to be increased to 110 cadets annually from the existing 40. Besides, CAE would introduce multi-pilot licence programme and transform the Academy into a centre of excellence. The MoU is to see CAE assuming management of the Academy within two months of the signing. The management contract has been entered into initially for 10 years and can be renewed for another five years.
New school at Gondia
In addition, Airports Authority of India (AAI) has signed an MoU with CAE for a joint venture to set up the National Flying Training Institute at Gondia. AAI would hold 51 per cent equity in the joint venture, while CAE would hold the rest of the equity in the project. The institute, that would produce about 200 annually, is estimated to come up at a cost of Rs 114 crore.
