HIT BY US LEVY: Workers engaged in peeling shrimps at a small-scale unit near Kochi, Kerala. Shrimp exports from India have been affected during the last two years with the US Department of Commerce imposing anti-dumping duty on shipments from India and five other countries. The number of shrimp exporters from India to US has declined from 258 in 2001 to 80 in 2007. Shrimps had initially constituted a lion's share in seafood exports with a revenue close to $1 billion.
