Tantia Const net rises to Rs 13 cr

Kolkata June 21 Tantia Constructions Ltd, for the year ended March 31, 2007, has posted a 126 per cent increase in profit after tax to Rs 13.1 crore, up from the Rs 5.8 crore in the previous fiscal.

Total income for the period under review is placed at Rs 246.03 crore, a growth of 51.6 per cent over Rs 162.28 crore in 2005-06.

PBT has increased to Rs 15.3 crore from Rs 6.4 crore in the previous fiscal, registering an increase of 139 per cent.

The board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 2 per share (20 per cent) against Re 1 (10 per cent) paid out last fiscal.

According to Mr I.P. Tantia, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, the value of contracts won by the company during 2006-07 was Rs 484.44 crore. The company's order book position has strengthened to Rs 1,222.82 crore as on March 31, 2007, from Rs 788.22 crore as on March 31, 2006.

Given the sound business model adopted by Tantia Construction, he said the company was well poised to ride the infrastructure growth in the country in the years ahead.
