WITNESSING UPTREND: Farmers and bullocks taking a break during planting time in Barapani, Meghalaya on Thursday. With monsoon lashing almost all parts of the country, sowing of kharif crops has gathered momentum. Rice is one of the crops that is witnessing an uptrend. Till July 15, the area covered under rice was 11.65 lakh hectares against 10.65 lakh hectares during the corresponding period last year.
