Coimbatore June 21 UPS Jetair Express has commenced operations in the garment hub of Tirupur to provide convenient access to factories that export their products globally.

The 2300-sq.ft. facility, according to a release, would have expanded package sorting capacity. The company has introduced advanced technology and increased its vehicle fleet and service providers.

In addition to logistics infrastructure development, UPS has been expanding its dedicated network in Asia. It recently announced the addition of another `around-the-world' flight to enhance service between Asia and West Asia, Europe and the US.

It plans to operate five additional weekly frequencies from July. This is expected to connect the globe using MD-11 aircraft with stops in Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore and Mumbai. Its three daily time-definite delivery options from Tirupur are aimed at giving customers more flexibility on lanes between the US, Asia and Europe.
