The Hindu Business Line : Order buzz lifts Educomp

Punters have been betting on the stock of e-learning enabler Educomp Solutions in anticipation of the company bagging a multi-crore order from one of the northern State Governments to introduce computer-aided learning in schools. According to players tracking the stock, the deal is similar to the one the company had garnered earlier this month from the Government of Gujarat. The stock has strengthened by 38.15 per cent month- on-month, while it rose 22.76 per cent on a week-ago basis. However, the stock went down by 6.84 per cent to close at Rs 2149.05 on the BSE on Thursday. A section of the market also believes that the `outperform' rating assigned by some large brokerage firms has added to re-newed buying interest in the stock. The CEO and MD of Educomp, Mr Shantanu Prakash, dismissed the market talk as speculative.
