Society & Development States - Andhra Pradesh Call for code on corporate social responsibility Our Bureau
Hyderabad June 24 There is need for a framework on norms pertaining to corporate social responsibility in various sectors in the industry, said Mr J. Harinarayana, Chief Secretary, Government of Andhra Pradesh. "Industry associations such as the Hyderabad Management Association (HMA) should come forward to prepare a model code on discharge of corporate social responsibility by firms in different sectors of the industry," Mr Harinarayana said at 35th annual awards function of HMA here.
AWARDS
Mr A. Ramnarayana Reddy, Minister for Information and Public Relations, gave away awards to winners in various categories. The winners are Mr B. Ramesh Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (manager of the year), Mr M.S. Chalam, Managing Director, Turbo Bharath Ltd (entrepreneur of the year), Mr Phani N. Raj, Managing Director, eYantra Ltd (small scale entrepreneur of the year), Mr Mandava Mohan Rao, Deputy Manager, BHEL, corporate R&D division, Hyderabad (young manager), Mr V. Rajanna, General Manager (AP), Tata Consultancy Services (IT professional of the year), Mr A.V.S. Raju, Chairman, Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd (lifetime achievement award), and Mr R.K. Peesapaati, life-member, HMA (member of the year). Mr S Subba Rao, President, HMA, welcomed the gathering.
