Thiruvananthapuram, June 23

The total credit disbursed to the priority and non-priority sectors in Thiruvananthapuram district during the last fiscal was Rs 3,459 crore. According to a press release issued by Indian Overseas Bank, the lead bank for the district, the credit disbursement to the priority sector was Rs 2,295.06 crore. This included Rs 1,130.67 crore to the agricultural sector; Rs 86.24 crore to the industries sector; and Rs 1,078.62 crore to the services sector. The total priority sector target for the district for the last fiscal was Rs 2,186.76 crore. Total bank deposits in Thiruvananthapuram district as on March 31, 2007 touched Rs 15,306 crore and advances crossed Rs 11,691 crore. The CD ratio for the district is 76 per cent, higher than the State's average of 70 per cent, the release added.
