Mumbai June 26 The All-India Port & Dock Workers' Federation will react to the Afzulpurkar committee report on classification/categorisation of employees of major ports not covered by the process so far after studying it, the Federation Secretary, Mr P.K. Raman, said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.

Mr Raman said a one-man panel, appointed to study the demands of the port and dock unions on the classification/categorisation of employees of major ports, had submitted its report to the Indian Ports Association on June 14.

The Indian Ports Association and the five recognised federations of the Port and Dock Workers would discuss the committee recommendations within six months and any disagreement would be referred for adjudication/ arbitration under the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act. The leaders of the five federations would meet in Mumbai on July 7 and 8 for the purpose.
