Aurobindo BP drug gets USFDA nod

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has announced it has received tentative approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for Quinapril Hydrochloride and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets 10mg/12.5mg and 20mg/25mg.

With this the Hyderabad-based pharma major's product basket for the US market has gone up to 45, according to a notice to the stock exchanges. The drug is indicated for the treatment of hypertension. Quinapril Hydrochloride and Hydrochlorothiazide tablets 10mg/12.5mg and 20mg/25mg are the generic equivalent of Accuretic tablets of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Ltd. This is the company's fifth anti-hypertensive (medicines regulating blood pressure) bagging USFDA nod, the release added.
