M.B.N. Rao is new IBA chairman

Mumbai, June 28

Mr M.B.N. Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, Canara Bank, took over as the Chairman of Indian Banks’ Association for the term 2007-08, from Mr V.P. Shetty, Chairman and Managing Director, IDBI Ltd, who is superannuating this month end, said a press release from IBA. The office bearers were elected at the managing committee meeting held on June 27. Dr A.K. Khandelwal, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of Baroda, Mr T.S. Narayanasami, Chairman and Managing Directo r, Bank of India, and Mr Sanjay Nayar, Chief Executive Officer-India, Citibank N.A., have been elected as Deputy Chairmen, and Mr V.J. Carneiro, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, CITIZENCREDIT Co-operative Bank, as Honorary Secretary of the association. —
