New Products & Services States - Kerala Men's wears from Jansons

Jansons, one of the leading dhoti and lungi brands, has launched men’s formal shirts, sports wear and inner wear in the Kerala market. Kerala is the first launching pad for these products, which was test marketed in Tamil Nadu earlier. The products will be introduced in other southern states soon and later for a pan India presence by 2009-10, Mr T.S.Natarajan, Chairman, Janson Group, said at a press meet. Having set high benchmarks in dhotis and lungis, the company aims to create the same consumer trust in all its new products such as formal shirts, sportswear, women undergarments in the State, he said. He pointed out that Janson is a clear market leader in dhotis, lungies and ready to stitch fabrics and school uniforms with over Rs 100 crore plus sales revenue in textiles alone. The company has also fetched an export revenue of Rs 35 crore last year. The export products include a host of items such as bags, chair canvasses, automobile covers, surgical towels etc, he added. Mr T.N. Thirukumar, Vice-Chairman said that the company is planning to set up exclusive brand stores in the State for marketing the products in this fiscal. It had set a sales target of Rs 5 crore from the Kerala market with the launch of the new products and projected a sales growth of 50 per cent.
