Wanbury net jumps 4-fold

Pharmaceutical company Wanbury Ltd has posted over four times increase in net profit at Rs 11.31 crore (Rs 2.15 crore) for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007. Total sales rose 17.74 per cent to Rs 47.98 crore (Rs 40.75 crore). For the full fiscal, profit after tax rose 94.13 per cent to Rs 20.83 crore (Rs 10.73 crore) while sales increased 31.77 per cent to Rs 146.08 crore (Rs 110.86 crore). During the year, Wanbury launched CPINK, a product targeting iron deficiency anaemia during pregnancy, which earned Rs 11-crore revenue in the first year. The company’s new formulations department ‘Osteolife’ has also contributed Rs 4.2 crore to the top line and five new products were launched during this period. The numbers include the financials of the merged company ‘The Pharmaceutical Products of India Ltd’. —
