Interest Rates Industry & Economy - NRIs SBT hikes NRE term deposit rates — Our Bureau
Thiruvananthapuram, June 30 State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has revised the interest rates for FCNR and NRE term deposits with effect from July 1. As per the revision, the interest rates for NRE deposits will be 5.43 per cent (existing 5.39 per cent) per annum for a period between one year and less than three years and 5.46 per cent (5.3 per cent) for three years and above, according to a statement from the bank. The interest rates for FCNR deposits in US dollars will be 4.68 per cent for a period of one year and to less than three years; 4.71 per cent for three to less than four years; 4.75 per cent for four to less than five years; and 4.79 per cent for five years. For deposits in pound sterling, the new rates will be 5.57 per cent for a period of one year to less than two years; 5.55 per cent for two to less than three years; 5.56 per cent for three to less than four years; 5.52 per cent for four to less than five years; and 5.47 per cent for five years. The corresponding rates for deposits in euro will be 3.78 per cent, 3.96 per cent, four per cent, 4.01 per cent and 4.03 per cent.
