Himatsingka net up at Rs 61.43 cr

Bangalore, June 30 Himatsingka Seide reported a net profit of Rs 61.43 crore on total revenues of Rs 244.58 crore for the year-ended March 31, 2007, compared with a net profit of Rs 48.63 crore on revenues of Rs 176.62 crore last year. The year-on-year net profit growth was at 26.33 per cent, while revenues grew by 38.48 per cent.

The consolidated results included the results of Giuseppe Bellora SpA, Italy, in which Himatsingka acquired a 70 per cent stake in February for €11.51 million, the company said in a press release. Bellora is a leading distributor of bed-linen products in Europe.

The company declared a total dividend of 50 per cent for the year (Rs 2.50 per share on par value of Rs 5 each). Himatsingka said that commercial production at its Hassan bed linen manufacturing facility was likely to start in July. Currently, the trial production was currently on at the Rs 400-crore plant in Hassan SEZ.

Revenues from the retail business — Atmosphere, grew by 52.7 per cent to Rs 25.91 crore.
