DBS Chola Mutual Fund CEO resigns

Our Bureau

Kolkata, June 30

Mr Rajnish Narula, Chief Executive Officer , DBS Cholamandalam Asset Management Ltd, is learnt to have put in his papers.

When contacted, Mr Narula said he did not wish to make a statement on the issue. “I have no comment to offer at this stage”, he told Business Line.

Mr Narula, who was earlier in charge of the erstwhile Alliance MF, took over as CEO of DBS Chola in June last year, not long after the joint venture between Murugappa Group and DBS Bank of Singapore was rolled out.

He was earlier with ANZ Grindlays Bank and, subsequently, Standard Chartered Bank. His appointment followed the secondment of Mr Sashi Krishnan, the former Chola MF head to DBS in Singapore.

DBS Chola Mutual Fund manages a range of products, accounting for roughly Rs 2,500 crore in assets (as on May 31, 2007). The Singapore partner is among the largest banks in South-East Asia.
