Tiruchi, July 2

Mr G. Uma Shanker, Additional General Manager and Head, Welding Research Institute, BHEL, was elected as the Chairman of the Indian Institute of Metals, Tiruchi chapter, for the period 2007-08 at its annual general meeting held here recently. While Mr V. Thyagarajan, Mr S. Karunakaran and Mr P. Nainar were elected as the Vice-Chairmen, Mr N. Parameswaran, Deputy Manager (purchase, valves), BHEL, was elected as the Secretary, and Mr K. Radhakrishnan, Manager, BHEL, as treas urer. The General Manager of BHEL and the immediate past-Chairman of the Indian Institute of Metals, Tiruchi chapter, Mr M. Namasivayam, installed the new team.
