IIITM-K offers scholarships to SC students

Thiruvananthapuram, July 4 The Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITM-K) will offer scholarships to the scheduled caste students seeking admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT) programme.

The IIITM-K has been chosen as an institution of excellence by the Union Ministry of Social Justice, for promoting the cause of meritorious students belonging to scheduled castes to enable them to pursue higher studies.

The PGDIT programme of IIITM-K is of two-year duration with rigorous coursework, practice, group activities, term papers and project internship, according to an official spokesman here.

Eligibility

The SC Students, who secure admission and whose total family income from all sources does not exceed Rs 2 lakh per annum, will be eligible for the scholarship entitling them to full fee and other non-refundable charges; lodging and boarding charges at the rate of Rs 2,220 per month per student or the actuals, whichever is less; and books and stationery at Rs 3,000 per annum per student or the actuals, whichever is less.
