Neo Sports’ independent distribution network

Mumbai, July 4 Neo Sports Broadcast Pvt Ltd is launching an independent distribution network with a new bouquet for cable and other TV platforms. Prior to this, Neo Sports had a distribution alliance with the Star network.

Announcing this initiative, Mr Shashi Kalathil, CEO, Neo Sports, said: “The independent distribution route allows us a rapid ramp up, better long term control and superior monetising. For the next two to three months the focus would be on getting distribution reach maximised for Neo Sports and Neo Sports Plus, our 2 channels. After this there has been considerable interest shown by several channels to be part of a bouquet which will subsequently be expanded.”

Appointed President

Neo Sports has appointed Mr Arun Poddar as President Affiliate Sales for Neo Sports, to lead this initiative. Mr Poddar was previously CEO at Zee Turner and prior to that he has worked with Ten Sports and ESPN-Star Sports.

Language channel ties

Recently Neo Sports Broadcast had tied up with various language channels to bring ODIs featuring India, South Africa, Pakistan and Ireland live with language commentaries. Positioned as “Home of Indian Cricket in India”, Neo Sports has a line up of cricket series till 2010.
