Strategy Parryware Roca focusing on bathroom renovation biz
Our Bureau Chennai, July 5 Parryware Roca intends to invest more in the bathroom renovation business. A huge market the world over, India beats the trend, however, with new bathrooms accounting for 85 per cent of the sanitaryware business and the replacement market only 15 per cent. Speaking to newspersons at the inauguration of the newly renovated Parryware showroom in Adyarhere, Mr K.E. Ranganathan, Managing Director, Parryware Roca, said Mumbai is the biggest market for renovation, and that Delhi is catching up. With customer profiles becoming younger, and with more willing to spend on the best and the latest, there is great growth potential in this segment, he explained. Showroom makeover
Parryware Roca is renovating its showrooms steadily to make its shopping experience the differentiator in the face of rapidly expanding competition. The stores’ makeover will also help offer a uniform ambience across Parryware’s several hundred showrooms across the country. Every year, about 50 showrooms will be renovated, Mr Ranganathan said. Of its budget of Rs 30 crore for advertising and marketing, Rs 6 crore is being spent on its stores, in partnership with the franchisee. About Rs 9 crore is being spent on advertising. The company recently launched a new ad campaign. The company will soon sell mirrors branded Parryware, for which it is tying up with a company in North India, Mr Ranganathan said. The glass for the mirrors will be sourced from St Gobain and coated by Parryware’s supplier, he explained. Parryware Roca has 44 per cent share of the sanitaryware market.
