`It is not too late to reverse such climatic changes'

Earth Institute records show that 11 of the last 12 years were among the 12 warmest on record worldwide.

Carbon dioxide levels today are nearly 30 per cent higher than they were prior to the start of the Industrial Revolution. These are indeed alarming times and scientists believe it is not too late to reverse such climatic changes.

In its bid to create awareness on the alarming and impending effects of global warming and use of conventional energy and trusted engineering knowhow to offer our Indian customers a truly sustainable energy solution," said Mr Christian Langen, Member of the Board Conergy AG.

Mr Raveendra Kamat, Country Manager, said the Company envisaged a key role for itself in advancing renewable energy in India. With an expected turnover of $1.5 billion in 2007, Conergy is the largest solar energy company in Europe and is a leading supplier of renewables such as wind and bioenergy. with headquarters in Bangalore, the Conergy group announced its plans for India, which could become a manufacturing base after an initial market penetration for its products.

"Every 10th solar energy system is planned and constructed by our engineers around the globe ranging from small off-grid applications for rural electrification upto large solar power plants producing enough electricity to supply over 6,000 households, environmental friendly energy throughout the year. We will use our tried sources, the Conergy Group, a leading global producer and supplier of renewable energy products and systems, organised a special screening of Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth here.

The film which won the Best Documentary Feature at the 2007 Oscars, highlights the damages to the environment by use of conventional energy sources.
