The Hindu job fair begins today in Coimbatore

Our Bureau Coimbatore, July 6 The two-day The Hindu Opportunities Fair 2007 is opening here on Saturday.

The newspaper has organised 16 such fairs in the last three years at different locations.

More sectors

While IT and ITES companies would account for a large chunk of the jobs on offer as usual, there are some prominent players from other sectors such as textiles and telecom who would try to lure potential employees at the fair.

More than 25 companies from engineering, BPO, ITES, IT and textile industries are participating and many are top-notch institutions, including Cognizant, Patni Computers, Wipro, L&T, Reliance Communications and Allianz Cornhill and textile companies such as like Classic Polo and Sharadha Terry Products.

Jobs for grabs

With such a large participation, it is expected that thousands of jobs would be up for grabs at the job fair and both freshers and experienced professionals would be in demand. The event is sponsored and presented by Cognizant, with Patni Computers being the Platinum Sponsor, Convansys being Associate Sponsor, Reliance Communications the will be Communications Partner and TMI First the Technology Partner. is TMI First.
