South Indian Bank in pact with Oman exchange

Kochi July 6 The Chairman of South Indian Bank, Dr V.A. Joseph, and the Vice-Chairman of Oman International Exchange, Mr Habib Abdul Nabi Macki, have signed an agreement for enabling online fund transfer facility for non-resident Indians working in Oman.

It would facilitate the transfer of funds through the Oman International Exchange to all the branches of South Indian Bank instantaneously. The facility under the brand name, “SIB Express” utilises the bank’s ‘Finacle’ backbone, a press release issued here said..

Presiding over the function, Dr Joseph said the bank had started in 2001 the technological up-gradation project called “SIBertech” in technology partnership with Infosys Technologies Ltd, Wipro and HCL, for providing anywhere banking and such other facilities to NRIs.
