Health States - Andhra Pradesh Mohsin Eye Bank opened
Visakhapatnam, July 8 The Governor, Mr Rameswar Thakur, has opened an eye bank at the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute here on the occasion of the first anniversary. The L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, which started functioning in July last year, is providing the space for the Mohsin Eye Bank on its premises. Mr Joji Prasad, the administrator of the eye hospital, said the eye bank was the outcome of the joint efforts of the Mohsin Eye Bank, the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute and the US-based Sightlife. He said the eye hospital was treating 150 outpatients and performing 15 surgeries on the aggregate every day. “Patients from the north-coastal districts and Orissa are visiting the hospital, and it is the best equipped in these parts. Shortly, we are also going to take up neuro-surgery.” – Our Bureau
