Nabard to set up agri biz school

Kolkata, July 8

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) will set up an agriculture business school - with facilities and specialisation on a par with the IIMs - in Kolkata. The Nabard Chairman, Dr Y.S.P. Thorat, announced this at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Bank's proposed National Resource Management Centre (NRMC)-cum-West Bengal Regional Office at Salt Lake here, says a press release.

He thanked the West Bengal Government for providing land for the research centre and office building and suggested that a similar gesture should be made for the business school complex. The West Bengal Finance Minister, Dr Asim Dasgupta, who laid the foundation for NRMC, agreed to the proposal and said that all help would be extended to the proposed business school. - Our Bureau
