TVS back to normal production

Our Bureau

New Delhi, July 9 Amidst high expectations from its newly launched bike variant, TVS Motors Company said that it expects production to resume at normal capacity. “We had cut production by 5,000 units for June and July. However, in anticipation of demand from the new version of Apache by another 1,000 units, we expect production to resume at normal level,” said Mr R. Chandramouli, Senior Vice-President in charge of sales and service, TVS Motor.

He also said that as interest rates would impact sales primarily in the lower segment, the company was banking on sales from higher segment bikes to revive its business in the coming months. “The segment is approximately 60,000 units a month, of which we are looking to sell 15-20,000 units a month,” he said. The company plans to increase its market share with new launches in the executive segment.
