ITC Foods flags off Sunfeast Open

Chennai, July 10 ITC Foods today flagged off the third edition of women’s tennis tournament Sunfeast Open with a fun session of beach tennis at the Fortune Chariot Beach Resort, Mahabalipuram.

Sports presenter and commentator Charu Sharma, squash player Dipika Pallikal, tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi and film star Trisha played an exhibition match as a prelude to the Sunfeast Open 2007. Commenting on the event, Mr Ravi Naware, Divisional Chief Executive, ITC Foods Ltd, said “The Sunfeast Open Beach Tennis match is one of the several promotional events conceptualised to enhance the popularity of the tournament this year.”

With a prize money of $175,000 up for grabs, the indoor, WTA-accredited tier-III tournament is scheduled for September 17-23 in Kolkata.
