Agricultural Institutions States - Andhra Pradesh Nabard draws up development plan for ‘distress areas’ in AP
K.V. Kurmanath Hyderabad, July 10 With its interventions in development of watersheds yielding good results, Nabard (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) has chalked out plans to cover 2.4 lakh hectares in the 16 ‘distress districts’ in Andhra Pradesh. The apex bank for rural credit and infrastructure development in rural areas, which is celebrating silver jubilee year this week, would cover 15,000 hectares in each of the districts, involving local communities and non-governmental organisations. A Nabard spokesperson told Business Line that all of the Telangana and Rayalaseema and Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts in the Andhra region were being covered.
