Kinetic ropes in Bipasha for new 125 cc scooter

Bipasha Basu

Mayur N. Shah

Mumbai, July 11 Kinetic Motor Company has signed on actor-model Bipasha Basu as the brand ambassador for its upcoming Kinetic SYM scooter, Ms Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Managing Director of the company, said.

The actor has been signed for a contract period of one-and-a-half years. “Though she can endorse all Kinetic models, we would primarily see her endorse the upcoming Kinetic SYM model,” said Mr Ajinkya Firodia, Vice-President, Marketing and Sales. The new 125 cc scooter is primarily targeted at female customers. Hence the company conducted a study for the right celebrity (actress) to endorse the product. Bipasha Basu was the unanimous choice.

The actor would be promoting the new scooter that will be launched next month.

A unique audio visual with the brand ambassador has been created that would talk about Kinetic, SYM and the product. It would be streamed across all dealer outlets in the country.

Novel features

The new 125 cc scooter will have a Kinetic SYM badging endorsed on its body panels besides novel features such as telescopic suspension.

Prospective customers can call-up the one-point call centre facility for test drive, sales and after-sales service. This will serve as a direct dialogue between the company and the customers, said Ms Motwani.

This would be the first SYM model to be launched in the country and will be manufactured at the company’s plant at Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh.

Import content

Initially, the scooter will have 10-15 per cent import content from Taiwan for parts like the telescopic suspension and the cylinder head

The company is targeting sales of around 55,000-65,000 units in the first year, with an annual growth projection of 15-20 per cent.
