‘Cut input costs to raise income from rubber’

Our Correspondent

Kottayam, July 11 Any research in agriculture mainly aims at enhancing the income of the farmers on a permanent basis and based on this the research activities of the Rubber Research Institute of India ( RRII) are given priorities, according to Mr Sajen Peter, Chairman of the Rubber Board. He was formally inaugurating the 10-day international training programme on Corynespora disease hosted by the Rubber Board at Kottayam. Income from rubber cultivation could be enhanced only through reducing the production cost and increasing the productivity, he said.

The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) and International Rubber Research and Development Board jointly selected RRII for the training programme.
