Manali Oil Refinery road to be improved

Chennai, July 12

The National Highway Authority of India has awarded the contract for strengthening the Manali Oil Refinery Road and the northern segment of Inner Ring Road.

The project, which includes additional groynes to prevent sea erosion, will cost Rs 76.77 crore.

The Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and the Chairman, NHAI, today met the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary, Mr L.K. Tripathy, and requested him to sort out some of the pending issues such as land acquisition and shifting of electricity poles for executing the project of four-laning of the Koyembedu-Madhuravoil road and the flyover at Kathipara junction in Chennai.

The Secretary said that the Ministry has approved improvements of Mettupalayam- Kakkanalla (the Nilgiris district) at a cost of Rs 80 crore and tenders would be called for soon.
