Suven seeks nod for drug trials

Hyderabad, July 13 Suven Life Sciences Ltd has applied to the Drug Controller-General of India (DCGI) for permission to undertake Phase-1 clinical trials with its investigational new drug SUVN-502, a novel, highly selective and orally active antagonist at a central nervous system serotonin receptor site 5-HTs. According to a release, the drug was intended for the treatment of cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Schizophrenia. The company’s focus was on central nervous system disorders through novel mechanisms using small-molecule medical chemistry approaches, the release added. —
